CHARLES CARSON... a DISCOVERY

Guy Robert described in 1993 the step of the artist as follows: The impression of freshness and energy that emanates from Carson’s works comes in part from the brilliance and purity of his colors, harmonized in rhythmic juxtaposition by graduates strokes of brush or palette nearly always on the diagonal or in large ellipses given air by interstices of white. It is also fascinating to see how the artist, without having recourse to the artifice of perspective, gives his work depth by innovatively creating an illusion of continuous rustling on the surface. There is a shift in the visual space and a mobility in the planes due to the energetic and harmonious dissociation of the masses involved; from whence comes this inimitable rhythm animating each work.”
